Production of cars jumped twice on-year
The greatest growth among the giants of the auto industry was shown by SaryarkaAvtoProm and Asia Auto.
By the results of the first quarter of 2018, the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers has already reached 39.5 billion tenge, more than double the output of the same period in 2017.
The largest volume of automotive production is concentrated in the East Kazakhstan region comprising 61.4% of the country total, amounting to 24.3 billion tenge, 2.4 times more than a year ago. Here the giant of the industry Asia Auto works.
Also, among the leaders are Kostanay at 28.7% of the total, or 11.4 billion tenge, four-fold annual growth, and Akmola at 5.7% of the total, or 2.2 billion tenge, 61% more than a year earlier, and Almaty at 2.3% of the total, or 929 million tenge, the only region where the decline in production recorded by 20% on-year. In Kostanay region there is the largest company of the industry SaryarkaAvtoProm, in Akmola there is KAMAZ-Engineering, in Almaty there is Hyundai Trans Auto.
The spurt of auto production continues for the second year. So, according to the results of 2017, the output volumes jumped almost three times compared to 2016.
In 3 months 6,5 thousand cars were produced, twice more than a year earlier. The production of buses and other cars for the transportation of ten or more people increased by 63%, to 44 units. Special vehicles production increased by 31.8% more than a year ago and reached 29 units.
The production of trucks has grown slightly by 4.7% year-on-year, to 177 cars.
In addition, the production of trailers and semi-trailers increased by 22.8% to 113 units in January-March of the current year.
According to the Association of Automobile Business of Kazakhstan, the most notable growth was shown by the SaryarkaAvtoProm auto giant, more than 5 times.
The largest company of the sector, Asia Auto increased by 68.2%, KAMAZ-Engineering by 23.5%.
Hyundai Trans Auto, on the contrary, slowed down and decreased by 47% in the first quarter.
