The Kazakhstan Machine Builders Forum will take place from 16 to 17 April 2013 in Astana

The Kazakhstan Machine Builders Forum will take place from 16 to 17 April 2013 in Astana.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Union of Machine Builders.

The Kazakhstan Machine Builders Forum is intended to become an international platform to ensure efficient interaction between representatives of government, business and science, with a view to developing and adopting innovative solutions in machine building - a priority sector for Kazakhstan.

The forum will open on 16 April with round tables in the following sectors:

  • Oil and gas machine building
  • Railway machine building
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mining and metallurgy machine building
  • Agricultural machine building
  • Motor vehicle construction
  • Metalworking

The forum's plenary session will take place on 17 April.

Main topic of the forum: 'Development prospects for machine building in Kazakhstan.' Discussion will centre on issues of effective government regulation and developing innovation in light of Kazakhstan's integration into the international community.

The forum programme also includes round tables on the impact on Kazakhstan's engineering competitiveness following WTO, EEC, and Customs Union accession; purchasing machinery; and staffing for mechanical engineering companies.

Event partners: Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, KazMunayGas, Kazakhstan Engineering, the Astana Mayoral Administration and Iteca.

Forum participants will include: sector ministries and agencies from the CIS, the Baltic countries and further afield; representatives of Kazakhstani ministries and agencies; diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan; national companies and major firms in Kazakhstan; suppliers and buyers of engineering equipment; scientific research organisations; industry unions and associations; domestic and international financial organisations; and high-profile trade media.

MachExpo Kazakhstan 2013, the Kazakhstan International Machine Building, Machine-Tool Building and Automation Exhibition, will take place at the Korme exhibition centre from 9 to 11 April. Over 80 companies from 10 countries are expected to exhibit.
