A delegation from Japan’s Marubeni Corporation to come to Kazatomexpo in Astana

The programme of the Kazatomexpo 2011 conference held in Astana on 29-31 March at Korme Exhibition Centre includes a paper from a representative of Marubeni Utility Services LTD.

A visit to the forum is planned by a delegation from Japan’s Marubeni Corporation. According to the preliminary agreement, the speaker will comment on the current situation the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.

The conference will be opened by D. Turganov, Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The subject of the Japanese speaker’s paper is not yet known, but the programme includes well-known experts in the nuclear industry and power sector, such as N. Ryspanov, Vice-President of JSC NAC Kazatomprom; K. Kadyrzhanov, General Director of DGP National Nuclear Centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and A. Kusainov, President of the JSC Park of Nuclear Technologies.

Six months ago Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Japan urged the head of Marubeni Corporation, Mr. Teruo Asada, to invest in infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan, including those within the accelerated industrial and innovative development strategy. In Kazakhstan, Marubeni is involved in projects in the oil and gas, uranium and energy spheres.

The Kazatomexpo 2011 conference is held within the KIIF forum, which unites several topics and presents an exhibition and roundtables. The exhibition will be held in Korme Exhibition Centre on 29 to 31 March. The event will feature over 70 companies from Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and Russia. Russian companies will feature prominently at KIIF 2011 (they account for 50% of the total number of exhibitors). In addition to such giants of the global nuclear industry as JSC NAC Kazatomprom and SAEC Rosatom, the exhibitors include leading Kazakhstani, Russian and international companies from the nuclear, mining, metallurgy, power and related industries.
